HolyPoly Website Relaunch
About the customer
HolyPoly supports other companies in implementing recycling projects and develops and operates comprehensive, end-to-end solutions for this purpose – from take-back systems and the recycling process right through to product design and marketing. They are therefore well versed in everything to do with recycling, such as circular plastic product ranges, take-back and recycling processes, materials, designs, quality assurance and much more.
About the project
For Holy Poly, we built an accessible, high-performing, and multilingual website on Neos CMS that combines strong usability with sustainable, privacy-friendly web design. Our main goal was to make the site accessible to all user groups — clear contrast, legible fonts, and screen-reader support — while keeping performance high through optimized images and lazy loading. We also developed custom, self-hosted Matomo tracking plugins and built-in CO2 tracking, so the project stays true to our commitment to sustainable, data-privacy-compliant web development.
Accessible, high-performance website
Accessibility was a core focus in developing the site, meaning it's designed to be usable by all groups of users — for example, through high-contrast visuals, large, legible fonts, and screen reader support. Achieving this was a demanding design challenge, since the site needed to accommodate many individual content elements that could later be styled and placed very differently across the page.

High performance and optimized web images
By using optimized web images and lazy loading (images load only as the user scrolls), we kept load times significantly low. Minimizing external resources further improved the site's security and speed.
There were technical challenges too: the team page needed multiple filter options that would still look good on mobile, and we also integrated custom icons. The site supports multiple languages, using DeepL for automatic translation to ensure global reach.
Sustainable and privacy-compliant
We also developed two new privacy-compliant, self-hosted Matomo tracking plugins: a session recording feature for live tracking of user mouse movements, and a heatmap showing which elements users click most often.
Another feature is built-in CO2 tracking, which achieves a high score — underscoring our commitment to sustainable web design.
