What's NEOS in 2025
The year 2025 in review
– Written by Sebastian Helzle, Marika Hauke, Philip Berghoff
Hey Neos Community!
2025 was a great year for the Neos project, full of progress, collaboration, and shared success.
New releases, active development, and lots of community energy kept the project moving forward.
Thanks to strong sponsor support and a successful Neos Con, we were able to invest directly into improving Neos for users, agencies and developers.
Most of all, the year showed how vibrant, supportive, and committed the Neos community truly is.
If you have ideas, feedback, or projects to share, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out anytime, especially via Slack in #guild-marketing.

Neos 2025 in numbers
Core Releases
2025 was a highly productive and impactful year for the Neos project, marked by strong technical progress, growing community engagement, and solid financial support. The release cycle was especially active, with 19 Neos patch releases, 8 Flow patch releases, and 7 Neos.Ui patch releases, alongside three major releases (Neos, Flow, and Neos.Ui 9.0) and six minor releases across the 8.4 and 9.1 lines. A significant amount of work also went into ensuring Neos 9 compatibility across many core packages, laying a stable foundation for the future.
Financials
From an organizational and financial perspective, Neos benefited from continued and expanded support. Longtime sponsors contributed €60,000, while Neos Con 2025 generated an additional €23,000 in profit, bringing total revenue to €83,000. After covering approximately €14,000 in essential operating costs, the remaining funds were reinvested directly into the development of Neos 9, underscoring a strong commitment to the platform’s evolution. The project also welcomed Ops One AG and 180heartbeats as new longtime sponsors, further strengthening its backing.
Community
Community and collaboration remained at the heart of Neos in 2025. The core team grew with the addition of Sophia as a new member, supported by three core sprints held in Vienna, Karlsruhe, and Dresden. The year also featured Neos Con 2025 in Karlsruhe, 14 blog posts, and exceptionally high community activity, with more than 11,000 messages exchanged on Slack. Together, these achievements highlight 2025 as a year of growth, collaboration, and investment in the long-term success of Neos CMS.
The increased number of blog posts, press articles, newsletters, activity on LinkedIn and other efforts in 2025, was also possible due to the higher financial contributions. Those allowed us to hire outside help and have a budget which allowed core team members to work on more marketing topics and the maintenance of our websites.
