What's NEOS in July & August 2026

Hey Neos Community!

We took a little break and now present you what happened in July and September. The last two months were all about momentum for Neos 9: the second and third beta of the 9.2 line landed with a polished Neos.Ui and CR bugfixes riding along. We also saw fresh patch releases of the Neos package family, the kick-off of the monthly Crosspollination calls for agencies and freelancers and a burst of community packages, including the new Neos Studio community plugin, a llms.txt generation plugin and many more.

Funding Request: My work - Neos 9 Stabilisation - June, July 2026 – Marc Henry Schultz applied for covering his Neos 9 CR stabilisation work since mid-May (content stream layer, UTC event handling, Event-store 2.0, faster hierarchy-relation queries); the poll closed 9–0 in favour on July 15.
One possible guide to replay projection locally and deploy remotely – A step-by-step guide to replay the content-graph projection on your machine and ship the result to staging/production, the exact approach used for the neos.io 9.2 upgrade.
Kick-Off for the Community Crosspollination Meetings – Maya Bornschein started a monthly exchange call for Neos agencies and freelancers; the first Crosspollination call on August 14 discussed how agencies handle AI-assisted development.
Help needed for finalising PostgreSQL and Neos 9 – Marc Henry Schultz explains the state of the PostgreSQL content graph adapter for Neos 9 and calls for developers, sponsors and sprint organizers to help finalise it.
ContentRepository.Search Packages Overhaul – Denny Lubitz shares meeting notes on overhauling the ContentRepository.Search packages: property-mapping interfaces, thinner adapters and new indexing modes (full, batch, realtime, deferred).
Neos Cache RedisBackend Garbage Collector – Alexander Hesse proposes implementing collectGarbage for the Redis cache backend to clean up stale keys from old deployments, and offers to contribute it to the Flow core.
Roland created a plugin with concepts for an improved workspace review layout and workflow

Core releases

Neos 9.2 Beta-2 Release
- The second beta of the 9.2 line, mostly a Neos.Ui effort. Polishes the edit-preview dropdown and button hover behaviour, and reworks the workspace selector once more. All Neos.Ui translations were finally moved from Neos.Neos into the Ui package, keeping every language intact.
Neos 9.2 Beta-3 Release
- The third beta of the 9.2 line is mostly a Content Repository reliability effort: a race condition during content stream forking – discovered when a client's Neos 9.1 events failed to replay under 9.2 – can no longer occur.
Neos Bugfix Releases: 9.1.7, 9.0.14
- Bugfixes for the new Content Repository, most importantly the graph projection fix "variation coverage restriction", plus many other CR stabilisation fixes. Includes a first contribution from Burhan @devclaim – welcome!
Neos Ui Bugfix Releases: 8.3.20, 8.4.4, 9.0.9, 9.1.6
- Patch-level releases of the Neos.Ui across all maintained lines.
Neos Bugfix Releases: 8.3.35, 8.4.7, 9.0.15 and 9.1.8
- Patch-level releases for Neos across all maintained lines. Including security related fixes for the Media browser.
Flow Bugfix Releases: 8.3.20, 8.4.4, 9.0.7 and 9.1.2
- Flow bugfix releases across all maintained lines with many community contributions.

- Major release: Flow 9 compatibility. Now supports Flow 8 and 9 only – older versions were dropped.

- llms.txt generator for Neos CMS — AI discoverability via a site-wide mixin and per-page opt-out
- Flushes the cache only when necessary for faster pages queries, adds a German translation and clarifies the llmsTxtDescription help text for per-page use.

- Major release: the package is now standalone under a new namespace, shows the year in dates older than the current year, and fixes node link styling issues.
carbon/plausible 3.0.0
- Track visits of your Neos site with plausible.io
- Major release switching to Plausible's new tracking-code API.
sitegeist/lostintranslation v2.8.0
- Automatic content translations for Neos using the DeepL Api
- Nodes are now synced during retranslation, so changes made in the meantime are carried over when content is translated again.
sitegeist/kaleidoscope v7.2.0
- Responsive-images for Neos
- Introduces a srcset runtime cache for scalable image sources, speeding up the rendering of responsive images.
