Neos rocks, and so does the Neos community: Guitar riffs and violin sounds marked the start of the Neos Con, a perfect parable on what was to come: power-driven speeches on Neos 9 and successful projects as well as subtle yet sustained contributions to the project.
The conference opening was once again written and performed by the Neos Chamber Orchestra, with Jan Kurfürst on the guitar, Bernhard Schmitt and his violin, Robert Baruck on the drums, Florian “Klausi Klaus” Seidel on the turntables and Lorenz Ulrich on the piano.
Puff Pastry Pockets and Celery Cutlets
For the second time, the Neos community, Neos team and friends came together at the GenoHotel Karlsruhe, with perfect sunny weather outside, two indoor stages and plenty of room for conversation and networking. Plus the already infamous buffet with vegan and vegetarian delights from puff pastry pockets to celery cutlets.

Neos Con Day 1
Neos Con Day 2
It’s all about Content, AI and Neos 9
The keynote for Neos Conference was held by Robert Lemke, who addressed the elephants in the room: There is AI and it’s influence on web design and content management, as well as on society as a whole. And there's also PHP's 30th anniversary: the blue elephant received quite some cuddles and thoughts during the conference. In fact, we have seen more cuddles for the ElePHPant then for Norman the paper Neos logo...even though he was also present in every room and as a give-away to all speakers.

The topics mentioned during the keynote were to be found again throughout many of the conference presentations, from how to build n8n AI Agents by Roland Schütz and Felix Gradinaru from Code Q, to Markus Günther’s (Flownative) thought-provoking and inspiring talk “Neos can help save the planet”.
Neos 9 was of course as much a topic, as the major release was published shortly before the event. Bernhard Schmitt from sitegeist was able to present a first and successful project on Neos 9, the relaunch of the ANAG Partnernet (winner of the Neos Silver Award 2025), and Marc Henry Schultz took a deep dive right into the Neos 9 Event-Stream – to just name a few.
The takeaways from all this:
- AI will have a substantial impact
- Content management will be even more important in the future
- Neos 9 is ready– and leading the way with its new event sourced content repository and options for AI integration. In fact, with more content being edited and published automated or with the help of AI, control over content becomes more important. And this is what Neos 9 enables content editors to do.
Neos is great for Editors and Developers was also the conclusion from the Panel Discussion "What's the next big thing in Neos?" with Robert Lemke, Tobias Gruber, Bastian Waidelich and Sebastian Helzle from the Neos core team, joined by Nadja Meyenhofer from ZHB Luzern, winner of this year's Neos Dedication Award (along with visol digitale Dienstleistungen AG). This was followed by a clear statement: Now it's time to let the world know about it!

Workshops & Contribution Day
Exploring Neos 9! - that was the spirit of our workshop on June 18th and the contribution day on June 21st. Both events gave members the chance for hands-on coding with the Neos team. Thank you for everyone who joined! Special thanks go to Bernhard Schmitt and Marc Henry Schulz for leading the Neos 9 workshop, which was not only fully booked but even overbooked – a clear sign that Neos 9 is a highly relevant and exciting topic for the community.
